Potipot Island is one of the easiest island escapes from Manila. Here is exactly how to get to Candelaria, Zambales and across to the island.
By car (4–5 hours)
From Manila, take NLEX to SCTEX, then TPLEX toward Tarlac, and continue to the Zambales coastal road heading north through Iba toward Candelaria. Follow signs to Sinabacan / Uacon, the jump-off point for Potipot Island. Potipotgateway Resort is right by the boat launch, with parking on-site.
By bus
- Take a Victory Liner bus from Cubao or Caloocan bound for Sta. Cruz, Zambales.
- Ask to be dropped at Candelaria (Uacon / Sinabacan).
- From the highway, ride a tricycle to the jump-off point.
The boat crossing
From the Uacon / Sinabacan jump-off, a short 10–15 minute boat ride takes you across to Potipot Island. Boat and island entrance fees are paid at the jump-off and vary by season and group size.
Make the trip easy
Because the drive is long, most guests base themselves on the mainland and cross to the island by day. Book a room at Potipotgateway Resort so you can arrive, rest, and be first on the boat the next morning.
